Move-in Details (Incoming Students)

Information for incoming first year and transfer students moving in on September 2, 2026

Move-in for first-year, transfer, and visiting students will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 9am - 4pm.

 The locations of our check-in stations and recommended parking lots are plotted on Google maps via the Fall 2026 Brown U New Student Move-in map. After checking in with Residential Life staff at the check-in locations, students can proceed to their drop-off location to unload vehicles.

Late Arrivals

Students arriving after 4pm should proceed to the Charlesfield Street entrance of Grad Center E (42 Charlesfield Street) and go to the Key Office to receive their key. Please note that while the key office is open 24/7, moving assistance is not available for students arriving after 4:00pm.

Orientation Information for Late Arrivals

New students arriving after 4:00pm should try to join their Community Meetings & Dinner with their Community Coordinators once they've moved in (5pm-8:30pm).

The evening social events on September 2 include an ice cream social on the Main Green, a Craft Night in the Campus Center, and a Puzzle Hunt in the Campus Center, all from 9pm-11pm. We invite new students to join these events as they please. Students who prefer to take a moment to themselves should check out our Paws & Reflect activity!
