Dear Students,

We hope your spring semester is going well and that you enjoyed spring break. We are writing as a follow-up to our message sent earlier this semester titled “[Important] End of Semester Departure Planning for BRDD Students” to let you know that the Spring 2025 Departure Form is now available in the housing portal via the Forms process. All on-campus students must provide their departure date via the Spring 2025 Departure form no later than Thursday, May 1, 2025. 

As a reminder, the standard closing dates for Brown residence halls are 12:00pm ET on Saturday, May 17 for non-graduating students and Monday, May 26 for graduating students, including those graduating in December 2025.

However, in order to better align with the RISD academic calendar, BRDD students may request to remain in Brown residence halls, without charge, until the following dates:

• Non-graduating BRDD students: may request to stay at Brown with no additional housing fees until May 24, 2025
• Graduating BRDD students: may request to stay at Brown with no additional housing fees until June 1, 2025

If you plan to depart on or before your standard closing date (May 17 for non-graduating students and May 26 for graduating students), you will sign up for a time to drop off your key to our staff. 

If you plan to depart after your standard closing date you will provide information about your extended housing request. 

The Summer Housing form is also now available in the housing portal on the Forms page for non-graduating students. Summer housing is available from Sunday, June 15, 2025 to Saturday, August 2, 2025, at a rate of $315 per week ($45 per day). Current on-campus residents may also request extended housing between the end of the Spring semester and the beginning of the summer housing period (called bridge housing) by following the instructions in the extended housing and summer housing forms. The bridge housing fee is $45 per day.
