Dear Students,

We hope that you are doing well as the spring semester is well underway. As we approach the mid-point in the semester, we wanted to provide you with an update regarding spring closing and departure procedures.

In support of Commencement and Reunion Weekend and in collaboration with Facilities Management, our office has a very short turnover period to prepare the residence halls for the arrival of Commencement and Reunion guests. While no action is required at this time, we ask that you thoroughly review this message and adhere to the published deadlines as we work to close the spring semester. 

Residence Hall Closure

Residence halls close at 12:00pm ET on Monday, May 29 for graduating students, including those graduating in December 2023. As our records indicate you are a graduating senior, you are required to fully vacate your room and return keys within no later than 12:00pm ET on Saturday, May 29. Your swipe access to the residence halls will be turned off at noon unless you are granted extended housing permission by our office. You will receive more detailed closing information on April 7. In the meantime, for more information about spring closing, please visit our website.

Planning for Campus Departure

Beginning April 7, we will ask you to provide our office with your departure date by completing the Spring 2023 Departure Form. We will email you the link to this form when it goes live.

If your departure date is on or before May 29 at 12pm, you will also sign up for a Check-Out Appointment through the same form.

If you enter a departure date beyond May 29 you will be directed to the Extended Housing Request Form to provide more information about your request. The approval of extended housing requests is not guaranteed. 

During Commencement & Reunion Weekend, many residence halls will be converted to hotel-style housing for Commencement and Reunion Guests. Graduating seniors living in extended housing buildings as well as these converted buildings will be approved to remain there until May 29 at 12pm. A full list of building designations during this period may be found on our website.

Due to exciting renovations happening this summer, Grad Center C will be completely offline during the extended housing period. Grad Center C residents, including graduating seniors, living on campus during the extended housing period will relocate to another building beginning May 20.

Fall 2023 Arrival Information:

If you are a December 2023 graduate who will live on campus for the Fall 2023 semester, you will be able to move-in on Saturday, September 2, 2023. More information will be provided over the summer.
