Dear Students,

We hope that you are enjoying your summer, and that you’re looking forward to the start of your experience at Brown University in the Fall. We write to you today to follow up on our initial email about the New Student Housing Application and Non-Resident Form on June 12.

You can access these forms here. These forms are due at 11:59pm ET on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

While RUE students are exempt from the six-semester residency requirement, you are still required to confirm your Fall 2023 housing status–either living on-campus or living off-campus as a non-resident student–-by filling out the appropriate form in our housing portal.

If you choose to live off-campus you will go to the Non-Resident Form (located in the Forms process). You will then be able to register your RUE status and live off-campus.

If you choose to live on-campus, you will go to the New Student Housing Application. The information you provide will allow us to match you with others with similar responses as part of our housing placement process. 

Fall 2023 Arrival Information

The official move-in date for new students is Wednesday, August 30. The option to arrive earlier than that date is limited to University-sponsored programs, such as pre-orientation, student leadership training, and athletics. Unless affiliated with one of our University-sponsored programs, you should plan to arrive on August 30. More information on Fall 2023 arrival will be provided on our website later this summer.
