Biography

Teniesea joined the Residential Life team at Brown University in July 2024. She was born in the Cayman Islands and moved to New York City where she resided for 19 years. Teniesea received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from New York University and a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. Prior to her time at Boston College, she had the opportunity to be a College Counselor for 9-12th grade students where she assisted in providing these individuals with resources towards receiving a post-secondary education. She enjoyed catering her strengths to each student and advocated for those who felt as though they did not have a voice. During her time at Boston College, she worked in the Office of Residential Life in both Housing Operations and Residential Education. Through this work and previous others, she found passion in Education while incorporating her love for Mental Health, Wellness, and Social Justice and Advocacy. During her time at Brown University, Teniesea is excited to continue expanding her dedication as an educator and to college student development through a holistic approach. She loves to exercise, read, watch horror movies, unwind with her cat, socialize with friends, and crack a joke or two every now and again.
