We hope that you are enjoying your summer, and that you’re looking forward to the start of your experience at Brown University in the Fall. We write to you today to follow up on our initial email about the New Student Housing Application on June 12, as our records indicate you have not yet completed this application.

You can access the New Student Housing Application here. This form is due at 11:59pm ET on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Brown’s requirement that you live on campus for a minimum of six semesters reflects the fact that residential college life is a critical component of the Brown educational experience. When you live on campus, you are more likely to participate in student organizations and projects, cultural events and social gatherings, and civic engagement activities. Students who live on campus are also more likely to turn to one another for advice on academic choices, social opportunities and personal issues.

If you are eligible for an exception to the On-Campus Housing Requirement Policy, you may request an exception by completing the Non-Resident Intent Form, available within the Forms process on the housing portal.

Fall 2023 Arrival Information

The official move-in date for new students is Wednesday, August 30. The option to arrive earlier than that date is limited to University-sponsored programs, such as pre-orientation, student leadership training, and athletics. Unless affiliated with one of our University-sponsored programs, you should plan to arrive on August 30. More information on Fall 2023 arrival will be provided on our website later this summer.
