Dear Students,

We hope you are well. Our records indicate that next semester you will be returning from a leave of absence, remote study, or a study abroad, away, or exchange program. We write to you today to confirm your housing plans for the Spring 2025 semester. To do so, you will need to complete the form that corresponds with your intent, either the Mid-Year or the Non-Resident form.

The Mid-Year Housing form is now live. This form is due at 11:59pm ET on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. You are required to fill out this form or, if you are eligible, the Non-Resident Intent Form (detailed below).

In the form you will have the option to update your lifestyle questionnaire and submit preferences for on-campus housing. Please note that preferences are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. 

If you have a specific vacancy in a multi-occupancy room or suite you wish to fill please indicate it on the form along with your preferences. While we cannot guarantee this option will be available our staff will follow up to confirm the vacancy and connect with the currently assigned students to see if the request is mutual. Please note that, as Grad Center suites go through housing selection as individual rooms, Grad Center suites are not eligible for the vacancy fill process.

Student Accessibility Services has indicated the priority deadline for submitting a request for Disability Related Housing Accommodations is 11:59 PM on December 1, 2024. Should you have questions about the review of disability related accommodations please email sas_housing@brown.edu. 

If you are eligible for non-resident status you will be able to accept non-resident status for the Spring 2025 semester via the Non-Resident Intent Form (accessible via the Forms process or the Mid-Year Housing Form). Please see the On-Campus Housing Requirement Policy for eligibility details.

Spring 2025 student account statements will be generated based on your responses to the Mid-Year Housing form. If you fill out both the on-campus and non-resident portions of the form your student account will be generated based on whichever housing status you complete last. You will receive regular reminders from our office to ensure you meet the November 6 deadline. If we are unable to determine your status by the deadline, your spring student account statement may be incomplete.

If you will live in on-campus housing for the Spring 2025 semester, please note that residence halls open for new and returning students on Saturday, January 18, 2025. More information about opening, as well as early arrival housing, will be available later this semester.
