Dear Students,

The message below, outlining an Extended Senior Selection process, was just shared with rising seniors who did not previously submit an application to live on campus. Some of these students have expressed interest in possibly living with those of you who have already submitted an application. We wanted to make you aware of this Extended Senior Selection process in case you would like to reconsider your selection date and form a new group. 

If you wish to expand your group to include students from the extended senior process, do not make a selection on Thursday, November 17 at your assigned timeslot. Instead, you will have the opportunity to form a new group and select on the Extended Senior Selection day (December 8). If you have any questions about this process, please contact our office to discuss.

As we continue to make improvements to our departmental operations & systems, we wanted to emphasize our commitment  to listening to student feedback as we develop processes in support of the residential student experience. After hearing from many of you, we are announcing an additional selection opportunity for rising seniors. 

An extended senior selection process will be launched next week, allowing those rising seniors who are still interested in living on campus for the 2023-2024 academic year to express their interest. Eligible students (rising seniors) will be able to select housing in December or indicate an interest to participate in a spring process with rising juniors and sophomores. Students who have already met previous deadlines will have the option to defer their selection until December so that they may select housing with students participating in this extended process. 

Please note that if you intend to participate in Greek, program, theme, and/or special interest housing selection in the spring, you must submit the senior housing application, indicating your intent to participate in the spring. 

Here’s a brief timeline of the extended process. This information will be updated on our website, along with opportunities to speak with Residential Life staff to learn more. It is important to note that the cancellation deadlines associated with the senior selection process will not be adjusted.  Students still have the ability to cancel their on-campus housing arrangements prior to January 31, 2023 without financial penalty.

• December 2-5, 2022
  • Extended Group Formation period
• December 6, 2022
  • Extended Selection times released
