Residential Life Policy: Common Areas
Lounges and kitchens are well-used and important parts of Brown's residence halls.
Unfortunately, the furnishings have all too often been borrowed to enhance student rooms or off-campus apartments. Furniture which is not authorized for the room in question is considered stolen University property. Students found in possession of it will be subject to disciplinary action. Penalties for this violation have been severe. Room searches (in accordance with the University policy on room entry) for stolen furniture are conducted when necessary.
