Information for Current Students
Housing selection for Upperclass students at Brown is unique; the Residential Council in collaboration with the Office of Residential Life has designed a system that allows for maximum student input in the selection of on-campus housing.
Brown’s housing selection process is unique in a number of ways. It is one of the few that offers students the opportunity to choose the exact room in which they will live. It also features a number of alternatives, both within and outside of, more traditional residence hall settings, such as Program Houses and Cooperative Houses. Most on-campus housing assignments for upperclass students, however, are determined through the Housing Lottery.
