Commencement and Reunion Housing

Dear Commencement and Reunion Guests,

Commencement and Reunion Weekend will be held this year from Friday, May 23, 2008 through Monday, May 26, 2008. On-campus housing will be available for friends and family of students participating in commencement as well as alumni celebrating a reunion.

Accommodations will be available beginning Friday, May 23, 2008 at Noon through Monday, May 26, 2007 at Noon. We are unable to accommodate requests outside of these dates and times. There are four types of accommodations available: single (1 twin sized bed), double (2 twin sized beds), suite (4-6 twin sized beds) and apartment (4-8 twin sized beds). Each room includes a set of bed linens including pillow, blanket, sheets and towels. The standard room rate is $50 per bed, per night, and there is a two night minimum for all reservations. The University also has a limited number of rooms with a private bath offered for an additional flat rate of $50. In addition to the standard nightly room rate, a $100 flat fee will be assessed for suite-style accommodations and $125 flat fee for apartments. Suite-style accommodations include a common area and apartments include a small kitchen, common area and bathroom. Please note that there are a limited number of apartments, suites and rooms with a private bath. Assignments are issued on a first-come first-served basis including those with special housing accommodation requests or needs.

For those of you celebrating a reunion, we will do our best to assign you to a room with your reunion class. Your reservation requests will be processed in the order they are received. Please refer to the reunion headquarters grid to determine your reunion year headquarters as well as key pick-up locations and hours of operation for the Office of Residential Life and Alumni Relations. For information regarding specific reunion activities, please visit the Alumni Relations website.

For reservations, please follow the link below, if you have any problems accessing the site, please call our office at 401-863-2337 or e-mail us at Res_Life@brown.edu with the subject line Commencement/Reunion 2008. Reservations will not be accepted after Monday, May 5, 2008 by midnight ET. Any requests after Monday, May 5, 2008 by midnight ET must make arrangements on-site, and there will be a $60 on-site fee assessed. On-site reservations are provided on a first come first serve basis until there are no rooms left to offer. Please note that there will be no cancellations or refunds after Friday, May 9, 2008. Additionally, if you would like to be housed as part of a larger group, please designate one person to make your reservation as this is the only way we will be able to accommodate you together. After submitting your request, you will receive a confirmation followed by an invoice, which must be paid within five days, to the email account listed on your reservation. Please contact our office if you prefer a paper copy.
